Job Overview
We have a unique opportunity for a Sr. Infrastructure Architect to join our global IT team. This position can be based at our office in Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL (near O’Hare). We offer a hybrid work schedule (2 days per week working in the Milwaukee or Chicago office for collaboration, team meetings, working sessions, etc. and up to 3 days per work can be telecommuting from your home office).
This position is a subject matter expert that has global accountability for the architecture and design of Microsoft related systems, including Active Directory, Windows Servers, and Azure.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead global teams in the design and implementation of Microsoft related technologies
- Plan and execute global cloud migrations
- Lead, operate and continuously improve the environment distributed across the globe
- Support integration and authentication projects for eBusiness, 3rd party vended solutions, SSO, cloud hosting.
- Work with stakeholders, fellow architects, and technical teams to collect business and technical requirements and deliver enterprise level Microsoft solutions.
- Maintain standards for installation of infrastructure software / hardware installations.
- Provide advanced problem solving skills for problems/questions associated with hardware /software.
- Make technically difficult decisions dealing with mission critical platforms, realizing that errors in judgment or poor performance can have significant impact on business functions and expenses.
- Meet regularly with strategic business partners to gain insight into the business’ direction, goals, and objectives to ensure alignment with data center and hosting systems.
- Work closely with regional and global Komatsu IT to understand current initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience in infrastructure support / infrastructure architecture
- Ability to juggle competing tasks and quickly adapt as business needs are shifted
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
- Ability to establish, build and maintain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to effectively communicate technical processes and concepts to non-technical user groups
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft's Azure
- Strong knowledge of scripting and PowerShell use to support thousands of servers.
- Strong knowledge of device management
- Experience supporting and deploying IDAM (Identity and access management) solutions
- Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topology.
- Working Knowledge of Virtualization - VMWare and HyperV hypervisors, preferred
- Working Knowledge of SAN and NAS systems preferred.
- Understanding of Windows Clustering and Network Load Balancing is beneficial.
- Understanding of interdependence of enterprise applications (SharePoint, Web-based systems, ERP systems, Exchange, etc.) and Active Directory.
- MCSE or MCITP or related certifications are a bonus.
