Job Overview

The Senior FP&A Analyst plays a pivotal role in leading financial planning, forecasting, month-end close, performance reporting, and commercial decision support for KNA Mining Wholesale. Serving as an individual contributor with strong cross-functional ownership, this position connects unit-level commercial deal tracking directly to the financial plan, supply allocation, backlog, and actual P&L results to deliver a single, reliable view of revenue, gross margin, and delivery timing to senior leadership.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Wholesale Financial Planning and Forecasting: Own and coordinate the annual business plan, periodic outlooks, and monthly forecast updates for Import Mining and EDT Mining. Develop unit, revenue, and SVC views from current deal and backlog information. Maintain clear assumptions, prepare planning submissions and presentation materials for KNA and KLTD leadership, and proactively identify forecast risks and opportunities.
  • Deal Backlog and Supply Alignment: Own and maintain the unit-level deal tracker linking commercial opportunities and orders to supply allocation requests, backlog, delivery timing, and actual sales. Reconcile views across Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance. Monitor backlog coverage and supply constraints, translate material changes into forecasts, and provide leadership with a traceable view of unit commitments.
  • Month-End Close and Financial Accuracy: Lead the Finance review of Wholesale revenue and SVC during month-end close. Validate unit-level sales activity, pricing, delivery timing, and postings while reconciling actual results to deal trackers, operational records, and the general ledger. Support OVC analysis and management, maintaining proper controls and audit trails for close conclusions.
  • Performance Reporting and Variance Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly Wholesale financial results against plans, outlooks, and prior-year benchmarks. Quantify drivers behind changes in unit volume, revenue, SVC, OVC, gross margin, and operating expenses. Deliver clear commentary to business leadership, distinguish timing differences from performance trends, and document action plans.
  • Commercial Business Partnership and Decision Support: Serve as a primary FP&A partner to Wholesale and Commercial leadership. Provide financial modeling and decision support for major multi-unit opportunities, including pricing, margin analysis, customer/product mix, scenario comparisons, and delivery timing. Constructively challenge assumptions and translate commercial decisions into financial and supply forecasts.
  • Process Improvement and Special Projects: Enhance deal tracking, planning, close, and reporting processes to reduce manual tasks and improve control and scalability. Develop templates and routines using enterprise systems. Perform ad hoc financial analysis for strategic initiatives, profitability, inventory, and operating performance while applying the principles of the KOMATSU Way

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, deal trackers, month-end close support, variance analysis, financial modeling, and management reporting across the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Sound working knowledge of revenue recognition, gross margin, product-cost analysis, SVC validation, and OVC analysis.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, reporting, and planning tools such as SAP, OneStream, STRAVIS, Power BI, Salesforce, or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong data reconciliation skills with strict adherence to internal controls and deadlines.
