Job Overview
The Finance/Accounting Intern will provide support to the Technical Accounting and Corporate FP&A department by performing a variety of tasks and responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience in various facets of accounting and corporate finance. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals, assisting with day-to-day financial statement preparation and forecasting activities and gaining insight into the operational aspects of the finance function.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assist with KAC financial statement preparation and pension financial statements, including completion of disclosure checklists, financial statement tie-outs, and discussions with external auditor.
- Perform KMC SG&A analysis during month-end close to report to stakeholders.
- Review significant revenue contracts during month-end close.
- Consolidate components of mining financial reporting package to present to executive management.
- Reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Provide monthly analysis to business partners to ensure operational budget guidelines are maintained.
- Prepare support to aid in preparation for quarterly management committee meeting.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
