Job Overview

The Marketing Communications team is a full-service, internal agency that brings our brand promise to life for our employees, customers, community stakeholders. The MarComm team is a fast-pace environment with high expectations and reputation for exceptional, professional delivery that adds value to the company’s bottom line.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Interface with business leaders across the mining business to understand their communication-related needs, develop content and execute communication plans that support the business goals and initiatives
• Work closely with business unit leaders and managers to effectively articulate the business goals, values, and priorities to ensure employees are informed, included and inspired 
• Responsible for support of and creation of materials for internal communication channels (email, intranet, digital signs, Yammer, employee mobile app) i.e. day to day monitoring, posting of information, collaboration for content development, and governance to effectively and efficiently inform and engage Komatsu employees.
• Review, write, and publish announcements, stories, articles, and other content for internal, global audiences that engage, inspire and inform
• Provide training and facilitate workshops with internal teams on various MarComm content i.e. brand training or event preparation i.e. trade shows
• Work directly with the Creative, Marketing and Content and PR teams as well as third party partners to align corporate messaging, expand and manage our creative assets such as photos, videos, graphics, publications, and to build our brand
• Collaborate and aligns with fellow communications team members globally on messaging and projects, cross-entity initiatives and campaigns
• Exemplifies the Komatsu brand and guides others in appropriate application of our Brand Standards

Qualifications/Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, HR, Business or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in communications, marketing, change management, training, learning and development, organizational development, HR, or a related role
• Exceptional writing skills for a wide variety of purposes and audiences. Loves writing, has a passion for words, and understands how tone and language selection can impact an audience.
• Experience helping lead complex, multi-dimensional projects. Able to take on a project leadership role with teams of peers and leaders.
• Highly organized with excellent personal time management and project management capabilities. Enjoys balancing competing priorities
• Technologically savvy; prior experience with digital communication channels including, but not limited to intranets, social media, and mobile apps.
• Extremely comfortable in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Creative, with an eye for design
• Naturally collaborative in small and large teams; Can also work independently and confidently without continuous oversight
• Outgoing, curious, creative, ambitious; Passionate about people, organizational culture and engagement

•  5 - 15% of travel, including international
