Job Overview
The MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Lead is responsible for leading the development, integration, management, and optimization of the MES. This role oversees the interface of MES with SAP and other systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation. You will play a pivotal role in defining technical strategies, guiding solution design, and ensuring successful implementation of MES to meet business objectives. After implementation, the MES lead will focus on system maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement, service as an enterprise expert on MES. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, plant operations, and IT teams to drive digital transformation on the shop floor, ensuring systems support operational efficiency, quality, compliance, and integration with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, PLM).
Key Job Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, the MES IT lead must have a strong understanding of both technical skills and business processes and be able to effectively present and demonstrate solutions to an executive audience.
• Lead and oversee the implementation, development, upgrades, support, and process optimizations of manufacturing applications (DELMIA Apriso solutions).
• Work on Desktop Client, Process Builder, and Screen Designing in Apriso.
• Experience with MES/MOM solutions and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Knowledge of batch and discrete manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) as well as SCADA and APS solutions (both SAP APS offerings as well as DELMIA Ortems).
• Define technical requirements, specifications, and architecture designs based on business objectives and user needs.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments and prototype development to validate design concepts and identify potential risks and challenges.
• Employ application and integration development best practices, enterprise architecture standards, functional and technical solution architecture modification and design, environment management, and testing.
• Ensuring MES Solution is implemented successfully across the manufacturing plants and platforms with core capability and IT /OT system interface. Ensuring the sustainability of technology and applications on security compliance and capability enhancement and alignment product roadmaps.
• Identify, investigate, and recommend improvements to products, systems, and processes and provide technical feedback for proposed system design and implementation activities.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, application logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Serve as the MES expert and primary point of contact for all MES-related inquiries.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and future MES module additions.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in MES (Delmia Apriso) implementation, integration & support, with 4+ years of experience in technical leadership roles.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and build strong relationships.
• Hands-on experience with MES systems (Delmia Apriso), software development, and related technologies.
• Experience with project planning, execution, and closure.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $140,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
