How you will help us create value together:

Komatsu is engaged in ongoing analysis of better aligning evolving business needs with a dynamic technology landscape by defining and deploying meaningful target state business and technical architectures. As an Enterprise Architect Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Enterprise Architecture team.  This high impact role will work to define an actionable application architecture strategy and roll it out across the enterprise.

This internship is available for Summer 2024 and will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District. We offer full-time hours during the summer, and flexible part-time scheduling during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support teams in managing the Application Portfolio
  • Support the team in collecting requirements needed to build/update domain Strategy and roadmap.
  • Support the team in collecting and documenting current state business capabilities, processes, and platforms.
  • Analyze and generate fit metrics for business processes/capabilities
  • Reviewing existing processes and providing feedback on potential areas of improvement
  • Assist in Developing process to streamline stakeholder communications
  • Generate and tailor enterprise architecture reporting to both business and technical teams

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, IT, or similar, from an accredited college or university

  • Active junior or senior level student in good academic standing

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal

  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Familiar with:

    • software development life cycle methodology

    • Agile theory

    • Architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Enterprise Architecture tools preferred: Protégé, Essentials, ArDoq

  • Software development experience preferred: Azure, Web Apps, PowerApps, UIPath, PowerBI, Troux, Microsoft Office

  • Experience in Project Management tools preferred: Azure DevOps, Agile/SCRUM, Microsoft Project

  • Experience in ERP processes preferred

  • Experience in CRM processes preferred
