Job Overview
We have a newly created opportunity for an IT Analyst, BI and Data Modeling to join our global IT team. This position can be based at our office in Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL (near O’Hare). We offer a hybrid work schedule (minimum 2+ days per week working in the Milwaukee or Chicago office for collaboration, team meetings, working sessions, etc. and up to 3 days per work can be telecommuting from your home office). In this role you will be responsible for analyzing datasets, designing efficient data models, and creating actionable insights to drive business value.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders and leadership to gather requirements, develop, and support data modeling and BI solutions for organizational stakeholders.
- Integrate disparate data sources into a cohesive data fabric, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and reliability
- Conduct business analysis activities to understand business user requirements and translate data and information flows within business processes.
- Analyze process optimization opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to drive value.
- Perform data profiling, validation, and cleansing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of enterprise data.
- Develop and maintain a centralized data catalog, including comprehensive documentation of data models, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
- Maintain data quality standards and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Develop and monitor data pipeline and semantic layer development, permissions, maintenance, and performance.
- Contribute and maintain documentation to translate the design, development, and purpose of data orchestrations for usability.
- Continuously demonstrate qualitative and quantitative value and benefits contributive of enhanced data modeling and governance.
- Continuously evaluate the enterprise data landscape and identify integration and AI/ML opportunities across data sets to create value.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required desired emphasis in IS, IT, professional certification beneficial
- 3+ years of experience in data modeling, data integration, data management in Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, and object-oriented data modeling techniques.
- Exceptional business analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and data architectures.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, Spark
- Expertise in data integration processes, including ETL and API management
- Well versed in technology innovation advancements, including AI and ML capabilities
- Ability to transform strategic discussions into concrete, actionable work plans
- Ability to establish, build and maintain strong relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable
- Proven ability to create and build positive and productive relationships internally with employees and externally with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills, and the ability to present complex data and statistics in a simple and clear way
