Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a financial analyst to join our team. In this role you will, assist with consolidating the financial planning and forecasting functions for Company Owned Distribution including both KMC (Komatsu Mining Corp) and Komatsu America Corp (KAC) requirements.  This includes the monthly report out process, annual business plan (including Headcount budgeting), 3x annual outlooks, 3 Year Rolling CapEx Plan and routine month end close responsibilities. 
Additionally, you will serve as the key business partner to the regional controllers to provide insightful findings and recommendations and help to drive the strategy, goals and objectives of the company.  
 

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Consolidation Company Owned DB financial plans: Consolidate the financial planning and analysis requirements for Company Owned Distribution.  This includes but not limited to, annual business plan, three quarterly outlooks, and the 3- year rolling CapEx Plan. 
Assist in the preparation of the results, providing insightful trends and analysis in addition to presentation material.  This completes the KAC / KMC / KLTD financial planning and reporting requirements and drives the overall financial results of the business.

2. Variance Analysis: Responsible for reviewing financial analysis of Company Owned DB Results; including monthly report out vs. benchmarks (e.g. plan, forecast, etc.)
Assist in the development and implementation of the monthly report out and business plan / outlook template(s) in order to meet and compile the KAC / KMC / KLTD requirements. 

3. Month End Close: Support month end close and the consolidation process. This includes, but not limited to, updating monthly detailed analysis files, monthly P&L review files and monthly balance sheet files.

4. Planning Software Implementation: Responsible for supporting the reevaluation and modification(s) of the planning process that will appropriately forecast the financial results for the Company Owned Distribution.  This includes but is not limited to assisting in the development and implementation of a comprehensive planning system which will include forecast/plan information for both SAP and CDK ERP system. 
This position / team will also serve as the subject matter expert for SAP, PowerBI, CDK initiatives projects, enhancements, etc.  

5. Initiative / Project Work:  Performs ad hoc requests and analysis required to achieve company goals and increase overall company profitability.  Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable.

6. Strategic Business Plans:  Will assist Company Owned DB management in development and analysis of strategic business plans.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.  MBA and CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Heavy Equipment, Manufacturing, Distribution experience preferred.  
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, technical, organizational, verbal and written communications, leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work with customers and work with internal departments to achieve desired results.
  • Excellent PC Skills w/ Word, Excel, PP, Data Analysis (Access, Sequel, Power BI).  SAP, BPC, and CDK ERP Experience desired but not required. 
  • Knowledge of information systems deployment, utilization and capabilities for-and-of enterprise systems management. Ability to use Microsoft Office software products.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel 25% - 30%
