Job Overview
The CAD/PDM Administrator provides technical and administrative support to the Engineering functions at a North America Technical Centers (NATC) and manufacturing, ensuring the effective and efficient utilization of the CAD/PDM tools and Engineering standards. This position provides 3D CAD and PDM systems support and training for the end user community at multiple NATC locations, in alignment with newly developed design standards and process flow. This role coordinates training methods, policies and procedures with other NATC locations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Actively monitors and continuously improves the production environment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Supports the PDM and CAD license management, upgrades, patch deployments and hardware requirements. Assist IT in deployment plans.
- Supports implementation and maintenance of development and test environments along with IT.
- Maintains engineering systems and infrastructure production environments to ensure that systems are performing/monitoring.
- Identifies, automates, and develops processes along with workflows and procedures as it relates to the use of CAD or PDM as well as other systems that support the engineering function and its requirements.
- Interfaces with IT to define requirements of the CAD or PDM applications and implementation. Works with IT on any software or hardware installations. Defines the requirements and works with IT to enhance the various engineering electronic tools that will help increase productivity in the Engineering Departments.
- Provides helpdesk support for Engineering IT related issues including troubleshooting hardware and software problems. Escalates issues to IT when required.
- Works to resolve any vendor software issues by verifying, documenting and tracking problems. Gathers required data (sample models, AVI’s, etc.) and formulates and presents enhancement requests for submittal to the software vendor or internal developer. Works with the vendor or internal developer to expedite these requests and get them implemented.
- Investigates new application functionality, processes or workflows for review. Evaluate new functions.
- Processes and maintains application access rights for users to engineering systems.
- Delivers and maintains checklist for best practices of CAD and PDM systems.
- Leads testing, evaluation, and suggest recommendations for new software changes to in-house software, to provide solutions for current engineering and business needs.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Certified for a specific CAD and PDM application package.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical field or equivalent practical experience in engineering along with related courses, seminars.
- 10 plus years of experience in CAD drafting/design and PDM administration.
- Experience with checks and reviews of work instructions, best practices and procedures.
- Experience delivering training for engineers as it relates to the CAD/PDM applications and the best practices associated with their use.
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $82,000 - 102,500 - 123,000.00. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
