Job Overview

The Aftermarket Project Coordinator at Komatsu Mining will establish and implement serviceable parts strategies, MyKomatsu content establish mining on Parts University and support continued growth of the Aftermarket Business for Komatsu Surface Mining.  This Role will be in frequent contact with various personnel from defined areas within the organization – Aftermarket Marketing, Forecasting, Product Support, Pricing, Sales Support, Product Management, Engineering, NPD Project Management, Commercial Management, Customer Solutions, Technical Publications, Planning, Logistics, Service Excellence, Komatsu Affiliates, Dealers and Sr. Management etc.  

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting and executing Komatsu’s Global Surface Mining Digital and Serviceable Parts Strategy.  Advance Komatsu’s Surface Mining Digital and Serviceable Parts Strategy beyond current methods and approaches (process, tools, training, next steps etc.)
  • Project manage and collaborate cross functionally to create, gather and provide all required content for Surface Mining Digital Platform, MyKomatsu. Project manage the addition and on-going maintenance of surface mining content into MyKomastu and other digital parts tools (including Parts University).
  • Analyze our current parts business and create/execute a serviceable parts strategy with the support/direction of the Aftermarket Product Managers and other stakeholders
  • Connect with Internal Departments and attend appropriate cross functional meetings to stay current with any potential impacts to strategy and product development
  • Communicate Serviceable Parts strategy, training and messaging Internally and externally to Komatsu Affiliates, regions, and Distributors
  • Manage Aftermarket Product requests received under the Aftermarket Product Council.  Determine feasibility and scope of the requests and manage those selected to move forward through the engineering and rollout process
  • Align digital and serviceable parts strategy with internal requirements/needs
  • Drive the establishment of the Surface Mining Products on the Part University Platform to facilitate training of regional and distributor team members
  • Maintain KPIs and metrics on the efficacy of service parts and digital content executed globally


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Relevant experience (Minimum 2+ years).
  • Experience with SAP,, LinkOne, or other digital parts sales tools is a plus.  High proficiency in Microsoft Excel needed.
  • Interacting with Global Distributors, Affiliates and regions as well as Customers of different cultures. Occasional International Travel may be required.
  • Very detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities and strong verbal/written communication skills.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across department lines to influence and build consensus.
  • Ability to translate detail into strategy with solid commercial business acumen.
  • Multi-taking ability, to prioritize multiple demands/priorities.
  • Understanding of the mining, construction or heavy equipment industries is a plus.
