Job Overview

Supervise daily warehouse operations supporting the efficient receiving, storage, binning, picking, packing, and shipping of service parts within Komatsu's Mesa Parts Distribution Center. This role plays a key part in the successful startup and growth of a greenfield operation by helping establish operational discipline, developing team capability, implementing standard work, and fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Leads a team of approximately 15-40 employees while supporting the facility's operational ramp-up and long-term performance objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations to achieve established Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost objectives.
• Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement, observations, audits, 5S standards, hazard identification, and timely corrective actions.
• Support the implementation, refinement, and standardization of warehouse processes, procedures, and work instructions as the facility continues to ramp up operations.
• Develop, coach, and engage team members while fostering a respectful, professional, inclusive, and accountable work environment.
• Ensure employees follow established standards of work, warehouse procedures, and company policies.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and developing newly hired employees to build a highly capable and flexible workforce.
• Identify operational challenges, analyze root causes, and partner with leadership to implement sustainable solutions that improve performance and employee experience.
• Champion change management initiatives and help employees successfully adapt to evolving business needs, processes, and operational requirements.
• Protect company assets and ensure established security procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with other departments and shifts to ensure effective hand-offs, operational alignment, and achievement of facility goals.
• Conduct regular team communication meetings to communicate safety concerns, operational priorities, performance expectations, and business updates.
• Provide feedback and recommendations regarding workflow design, storage strategies, labor utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities to support operational growth.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or related operational experience.
• Prior experience leading people in a team-based environment.
• Strong communication, coaching, and employee development skills.
• Ability to effectively lead through change and perform in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple operational demands.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Demonstrated ability to build engagement, accountability, and trust across diverse teams.
• Intermediate computer skills, including experience with warehouse management systems, Microsoft Office applications, or similar operational systems.
• Willingness to continue professional development through training, certifications, and continuous learning opportunities.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have sufficient ordinary ambulatory skills to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.  Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Preferred Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience supporting a greenfield, startup, facility expansion, or major operational launch.
• Experience implementing warehouse management systems, standard work, process improvements, or operational best practices.
• Lean, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, or 5S training/certification.
