Job Overview
We are looking for a Rebuild Shop Supervisor role to support mining and heavy equipment! In this role you're oversee mechanical and machining operations within the Mesa Rebuild Shop, managing leads and employees. The position ensures production schedules, safety compliance, and quality standards are met while maintaining cost control and operational efficiency. The supervisor will report to the Shop Manager and collaborate with planners, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer commitments.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Workforce Management
- Develop manpower schedules and direct hourly workforce.
- Monitor headcount and forecast labor hours against budgets.
- Ensure flexibility for overtime/weekend work when required.
- Operational Oversight
- Supervise mechanical technicians and machinists performing DC motor, shovel motor, and electrical motor rebuilds.
- Coordinate production meetings weekly to align work priorities.
- Oversee equipment audits and maintenance for optimal performance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Lead daily safety meetings; enforce PPE and procedural compliance.
- Partner with HR to resolve employee relations issues
- Quality & Cost Control
- Maintain low Cost of Poor Quality as per Komatsu standards.
- Collaborate with quality supervisor to identify and correct process issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with planners, engineering, and other departments to meet deadlines.
- Participate in project forecasting and quoting processes.
- Administrative Duties
- Ensure accurate timekeeping and adherence to labor laws.
- Execute departmental monthly budget and financial requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience
- 5+ years as a supervisor or manager
- 5+ years experience in mechanical or machining environments (DC motors, transmissions, cylinder rebuilds) preferred
- Industry experience in mining, construction, heavy equipment, or related fields (wind power acceptable).
- Skills
- Ability to read and interpret machining drawings and Komatsu operating procedures.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to maintain orderly shop environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Customer-facing experience and ability to make cost-based decisions.
- Leadership
- Proven ability to manage employee relations and enforce safety standards.
- Comfortable working 10-hour days; occasional overtime/weekend flexibility.
- Certifications
- MSHA preferred but not required.

Hiring Range
