Key Job Responsibilities

  • Track re-work and cost of poor quality.
  • Ensure received materials, parts, and consumables meet all quality standards.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers.
  • Conduct Welder Training.
  • Conduct Welder Certification Testing.
  • Record and maintain Welder certification logs.
  • Create service requisitions and other service order-based operations in SAP.
  • Collaborate with corporate and local Operational Excellence teams and facilitate/implement initiatives as applicable.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • AWS D1.1 Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • ASNT Mag Particle Level II (MT) Certified.
  • The ability to demonstrate and communicate the effectiveness and importance of safe work practices.
  • A demonstrated understanding and commitment to safety in a regularly changing work environment.
  • The ability to demonstrate a broad technical understanding of metallurgy.
  • Knowledge and prior work experience with heavy off-highway construction and mining equipment.
  • Experience working in environments utilizing electric high voltage (up to 7200 volts), diesel prime power, and motion components including hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with material handling and rigging of large / heavy steel components. We move and handle components that weigh in excess of 200,000lbs.
  • Proven success working on teams diversified by background, applicable experience, and varying levels of knowledge within a variety of trades.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with OE Engineering.
  • The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule which could include early morning starts, late evenings, nights, weekends, and regular overnight stays.
  • A clean driving record.
  • MSHA Certification a plus.
  • CDL and / or DOT Health Card a plus.
  • Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and standards
