Job Overview
Are you an analytical professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment? Our heavy equipment dealership in Mesa is seeking a Cost Analyst to bring structure and insight to our service operations across Field Service, Technical Service, and the Weld Shop.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planners, buyers, and service managers to ensure all job costs are accurately captured and understood.
- Work independently to analyze job loads and identify missing expenses or margin discrepancies.
- Investigate low-margin jobs by partnering with service teams to uncover cost drivers and ensure accurate billing.
- Submit monthly cost estimates and continuously refine them throughout the month.
- Lead WIP forecasting by participating in production meetings and tracking service team schedules and quotes.
- Bridge communication between service groups
- Drive margin improvement by ensuring all expenses are accounted for and billed correctly
- Innovate and improve existing processes
- Review cost reports, quotes, and project details to ensure all costs from projects are accounted for.

Prelim and invoice jobs for service departments.
- Follow up on purchase orders that need updated amounts.
- Reconcile and distribute monthly billing spreadsheets.
- Provide margin analysis to the Controller.
- Prepare and submit monthly billing estimates.
- Ensure audit items are attached to sales orders in SAP.
- Review backlog to ensure sales order amounts match PO.
- Submit invoices to customers for payment.
- Provide monthly accrual amounts to customers as requested.
- Participate in monthly WIP reviews.
- Attend weekly service production meetings.
- Review monthly purchase price variance for accuracy.
- Respond to customer questions regarding open PO’s.
- Gather information for Quarterly Forecast with service departments.
- Assist the Controller with Quarterly WIP Forecast.
- Manage job close-out and obtain back-ordered items and invoices.

Generate ad hoc reports as required by the Controller and Service Department.
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business or accounting, or 5+ years of equivilent experience in a heavy equipment environment required

Good understanding of SAP system and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Awareness of SOX regulations.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other relevant software tools.
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities
