Job Overview
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and looking to grow your accounting career with a globally recognized company? Our Mesa-based dealership, part of a leading international provider of mining and construction equipment, is seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our team!
At a high level, this role will provide:
- Payroll Support: Daily entry checks and reconciliation using Workforce Management software.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manual invoice coding, distribution for approvals, and AR aging report management.
- Quarterly Forecast Assistance: Collaborate with team to support forecasting activities.
- Month-End Activities: Participate in closing tasks and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collections Support: Assist smaller teams with basic business collections and customer inquiries regarding past-due accounts.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in Accounts Payable is required; Accounts Receivable experience is a plus.
- Background in auto dealerships or similar industries is welcome.
- No specific background required, but familiarity with manufacturing, construction, or service order environments is ideal
Work Environment:
- Onsite, 5 days a week in our Mesa, AZ location.
- Collaborative team atmosphere with shared resources and cross-functional support.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Payroll
- Enter corrections needed for entry errors
- Reconciliation
- Various reporting duties (payroll preview, end of month)
- Accounts Payable
- Prepare check requests
- Manually logging invoices
- G/L Coding invoices for processing by corporate accounting
- Collecting manual authorizations from management for invoices
- Working with corporate accounting function to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Prepare monthly accrual for A/P invoices
- Process and log hotel expenses for service team
- Accounts Receivable
- Update A/R Aging Reports
- Facilitate A/R Meetings
- Assist with collections of past due invoices
- Provide month-end commentary to Senior Accountant
- Manage Office Supplies
- Assist Controller with Quarterly Forecasts – uploading data to SAP (ERP System)
- Assist Controller and Senior Accountant with Month-End Activities
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5 years of accounting experience OR an Associate’s degree (Business/Accounting) plus 2 years experience
- Experience specifically in A/P and A/R
- MS Office (Excel, Word)
- SAP experience or comparable (i.e. Oracle, People Soft)
- Ability to prioritize task
- Basic administrative skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently in a relatively short timeframe - applicable prior work experience will be VERY important
- Ability to work in a high stress environment with competing deadlines and rapidly changing priorities
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or construction environment preferred but not required
- Ability to work well with others
