Job Overview

This is a Second Shift Mechanic Helper position that is based out of the Hatfield, PA location.  This position is assigned to the Lube Truck and will involve extensive work outside, at customer sites.  The schedule is generally 2:00pm to 10:30pm, based on customer needs.  You will be working alongside of a Lube Technician, supporting the technician while developing your skillset.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Assists in performing scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment
  • Follows all company, client, state, and federal safety requirements
  • Maintains a set of tools required to perform the work
  • Provides support as needed to move equipment
  • Provides a high level of communication with company mechanic
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Documenting work performed in CDK system

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness and interest in learning a trade.
  • Technical School/Technical College or related work experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a sufficient tool inventory to perform assigned tasks.

Work Environment:

As a Mechanic Helper with Komatsu Company Owned Dealer East, the physically demanding work is performed in industrial environments and includes exposure to significant environmental conditions, including but not limited to: 

  • Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
  • Working at heights
  • Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
  • Hand/eye and motor coordination
  • Work overtime as needed
  • The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold, odors, hazards, and atmospheric exposures

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$ 32.96 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.
