Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a General Utility Worker in Longview, Texas. Komatsu offers excellent benefit package, competitive pay, annual bonus potential, and annual merit reviews.

Key Job Responsibilities

•Welds components in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.

•Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.

•Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, and grinds component parts. 

•Detects faulty operation of equipment and defective materials; notifies supervisors.

•Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.

•Monitors the fitting burning and welding process to avoid overheating of parts, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

•Examines workpieces for defects and measures material with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

•Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade.

•Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one-year related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
