As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of product integrity and safety, ensuring every component meets stringent quality specifications. You will work closely with various departments, supporting our mission to deliver products that exceed customer expectations while promoting a safe and collaborative workplace culture.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and serve as a proactive safety advocate within the Motor Shop environment, ensuring not only personal safety but the safety of all team members.
  • Conduct thorough receiving, in-process, and final inspections of materials, parts, and fabricated structures using a variety of precision dimensional measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and scales, in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Prepare, accurately maintain, and submit all related documentation including Nonconformance Reports (NCR), Nondestructive Testing (NDT) reports, dimensional inspection logs, and equipment calibration records, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and verify accuracy and applicability of technical documents, drawings, and inspection reports to ensure consistent quality control across production processes.
  • Collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams such as production, engineering, and quality assurance departments to address inspection outcomes and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper calibration of company inspection tools, applying knowledge of calibration standards and performing maintenance as necessary to uphold measurement integrity.
  • Participate actively in training sessions and quality audits, contributing to ongoing improvement of inspection procedures and quality management systems.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in quality inspection or machining roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting, demonstrating hands-on expertise with mechanical measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to operate office equipment including scanners and copiers efficiently.
  • Preferred experience or familiarity with fabrication and welding processes to better understand material characteristics and structural integrity.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of documents, including business communications, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and analyze complex information critically.
  • Mathematical competence in performing calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume relevant to inspection activities.
  • Experienced in the use of dimensional mechanical measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex drawings and technical requirements fundamental to quality inspection.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of receiving, in-process, and final inspection procedures, ensuring compliance with quality standards at every production phase.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage constructively with internal stakeholders and support production operations seamlessly.
  • Preferred certifications include SNT-TC-1A Level II in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) as part of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with a variety of NDT inspection techniques such as MT, VT, UT, UT Thickness (UTT), Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), or Brinell Hardness Testing (BLT) is preferred.
  • Qualifications to operate both Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing machines will be considered a strong asset.
