Job Overview

Build something big! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our team at Komatsu Longview Operations. As a Quality Engineer for Mining Drills, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our drilling equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement quality control processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold our commitment to delivering superior products to our customers.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement quality control procedures for the manufacturing of mining drills.

2. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality-related issues.

3. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure product specifications and standards are met.

4. Perform inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards and regulations.

5. Develop and maintain documentation related to quality processes and procedures.

6. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

7. Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

8. Provide technical expertise and support for quality-related matters to internal teams and external stakeholders.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

10. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality control and assurance.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in the manufacturing of mining equipment or heavy machinery.

3. Strong knowledge of quality control standards, techniques, and tools.

4. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems.

5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

8. Experience with Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies is a plus.

9. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier audits and other business needs.
