Job Overview
Provide financial and operational support to VP Operations, VP Sales, Functional and Operation Directors and Surface Mining Senior Management Team for the execution of Company’s goals and strategy.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Compile and provide analysis of the financial results for the Wheel Loader, Hard Rock and Forestry businesses for use by Vice President Operations and Vice President, Finance-Manufacturing. Prepare financial presentations, forecasts, pro forma, projections and provide financial analysis and support for Senior Management and Longview leadership team as necessary.
- Responsible for recognizing revenue in compliance with the Komatsu Mining Corp Revenue Recognition Policy. In addition, complete and compile worldwide original equipment (OE) and aftermarket sales and margin rolling forecasts and quarterly rolling forecasts. Oversee the creation, approval and roll-out of the annual budgets (expense and capital) for Wheel Loaders, Hard Rock and Forestry businesses. Provides guidance on financial interactions with Komatsu
- Maintain internal accounting controls for the Longview Operations to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with Company policy and procedures.
- Provide leadership and direction for functional accounting departments – Accounts receivable and credit, invoicing, cost accounting, manufacturing expenses, fixed assets, and departmental expenses.
- Implement staffing and career development plans for direct and functional reports.
- Provide financial analysis for special projects such as; scenario planning, restructuring, SAP R3, asset requisitions, acquisitions, closures, etc.
- Perform OE Machine contract review to ensure compliance with Company’s Revenue Recognition Policy.
- Compile worldwide Wheel Loader OE, aftermarket, forestry and Hard Rock sales and margin rolling forecasts.
Qualifications/Requirements
- This position requires an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or economics. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is desirable as is an advanced education degree such as MBA.
- 10+ years of practical accounting experience in a variety of accounting positions is required. Strongly prefer past experience at a Controller or Assistant Controller position level.
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity and solid communication skills required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing organization strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques is a plus.
- SAP/ERP and Business Warehouse experience is a plus.
- PC utilizing applications such as Microsoft office, ERP programs and electronic communications.
