Job Overview

Komatsu is seeking a OE Planner to support Longview Operations. The company provides excellent benefits, competitive compensation, bonus opportunities, and an annual merit review.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work safe and be an advocate for safety
  • Strives for continuous improvement in worker safety and is dedicated to ensuring that each employee understands, and acts in accordance with, the company’s HSE policies
  • Works with Project Management, task leaders, and appropriate others to develop project’s work breakdown structure, schedules, budgets, and timely reporting
  • Analyzes schedule variances and advises Management of discrepancies and anticipated problems
  • Interfaces with various operating and internal support groups (e.g., Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Production, Warehouse) to collect and analyze data to perform project planner duties
  • Plans and schedules workflow for select departments and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Coordinates, as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities
  • Reviews production schedule and manufacturing orders to ensure that components and services are available in a timely manner
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Generates manufacturing orders to meet the requirements of the production schedule
  • Coordinates with appropriate manufacturing personnel the solution to problems related to the Production Schedule, such as material shortage status, rejection, scrap, re-work, etc
  • Analyzes material shortages, review order progress, and adjust plans and schedules as necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Planning, Engineering, Production Control or a related discipline and five years related experience and/or training preferred: equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a complete understanding of planning principles, theories and concepts as well as ability to understand accounting and manufacturing systems in a research or production environment
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook and Windows based software packages (or similar products) is required
  • SAP experience is a plus
