Key Job Responsibilities
- Champion workplace safety by adhering to all safety protocols and encouraging a culture of safety awareness among colleagues.
- Execute receiving, in-process, and final inspections on raw materials, components, and fabricated structures in accordance with detailed drawings, specifications, and established work instructions.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and rulers to perform accurate dimensional checks and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Nondestructive Testing (NDT) reports, dimensional verification records, and calibration logs to support quality assurance processes.
- Review technical documents for accuracy and applicability to ensure inspection procedures are correctly followed throughout production stages.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams across departments to support production goals, troubleshoot quality issues, and facilitate communication related to inspection findings.
- Maintain the calibration integrity of inspection and measurement tools by performing routine checks and coordinating calibration activities to uphold equipment precision.
- Continuously monitor and improve inspection processes, contributing suggestions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the assembly operations environment.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in inspection or machining environments, demonstrating reliable quality control expertise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with experience using office equipment such as scanners and copiers.
- Experience or background in fabrication and welding is an advantage, adding valuable insight into material properties and assembly processes.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze a variety of business and technical documents with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of prioritizing workloads efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Competent in performing mathematical calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume to support inspection activities.
- Hands-on experience with dimensional measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to assess product conformity accurately.
- Knowledge of standard receiving, in-process, and final inspection methodologies ensuring quality compliance at all stages of manufacture.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing support for production and quality assurance initiatives.
- Preferred qualifications include SNT-TC-1A Level II Certification in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Testing (MT), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) as part of nondestructive testing expertise.
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks enhances versatility in supporting production material handling.
- Familiarity with various NDT inspection methods such as MT, VT, UT, Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), or Backscatter Layer Testing (BLT) is highly valued.
- Preferred proficiency in using both Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing machines to evaluate material properties effectively.
