Job Overview
As a Quality Department Material Handler at Komatsu, you will be an essential part of our Longview operations team, responsible for moving goods within our manufacturing environment. Your primary role will be to support the quality assurance process by ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of materials and products, enabling our team to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Material Movement: Safely transport materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility, ensuring they are positioned appropriately for quality inspections and testing.
2. Quality Department Support: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to assist in the setup and organization of materials required for quality checks, inspections, and tests.
3. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, report any discrepancies, and work with the Quality Department to replenish materials as needed.
4. Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move products efficiently and safely.
5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring the safe handling and transportation of materials and products.
6. Documentation: Keep detailed records of material movements and inventory levels, providing information to the Quality Department as required.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with quality inspectors, production teams, and other departments to ensure the seamless flow of materials and products.
8. Quality Focus: Prioritize the quality and integrity of materials and products, assisting the Quality Department in identifying and addressing any defects or issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Prior experience as a material handler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
