Key Job Responsibilities

• Work safe and be an advocate for safety.
• Collects and analyzes the cost components and financial data for business unit products, usage, labor efficiency, and processes to assess and identify areas for improvement.
• Actively Initiates, monitors, and drives cost-out initiatives and projects within the business unit functions including engineering, quality, sourcing, production value stream teams, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain to ensure product cost competitiveness.
• Reports to leadership and organization on the current state of our product costs and cost optimization projects within the business unit.
• Evaluates, develops, and supports continuous improvement of qualified suppliers to drive cost savings.
• Liaisons with Category Managers, plant purchasing, and support negotiations as requested.
• Conduct thorough cost-benefit analysis for proposed changes or improvements.
• Conduct risk assessments to mitigate potential issues related to cost-savings initiatives
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
• Communicate project goals, progress and outcomes to stakeholders at various levels.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business. An associate’s degree in combination with relevant working experience in Purchasing, Materials, or Engineering background with a specialized knowledge on a focused group of commodities will be considered.
• Demonstrated experience with and ability to manage projects, from inception to completion within constraints and deadlines, particularly those focused on cost reduction and process optimization.
• Strong ability to analyze data, perform cost-benefit analysis and identify cost-savings opportunities.
• Ability to make decisions and solve practical problems with a variety of variables in situations where standardization may be limited.
• Self-driven, results oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Has a high level of competency with SAP analysis, data, and reporting, as well as Excel, Power Point, and Power BI.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must possess the ability to multi-task and work successfully in a multi-functional team.
• Knowledge of mining, heavy equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma preferred.
