Key Job Responsibilities
As a Coil Winder I, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Adhering strictly to all safety standards and promoting a safety-conscious work culture among peers.
- Performing winding operations with precision by following detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, and tooling to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with quality standards.
- Loading materials accurately, including wires, coils, and insulation, onto winding machinery and preparing them for processing.
- Utilizing hand tools to attach, alter, and trim coil materials, ensuring neat and precise workmanship.
- Employing soldering and brazing techniques to make strong and reliable electrical connections.
- Setting up and calibrating winding equipment and tooling to meet job specifications, troubleshooting minor issues as necessary.
- Collaborating with quality control and maintenance teams to address any production or equipment concerns promptly.
- Documenting production activities and reporting any deviations or safety incidents according to company protocol.
- Participating actively in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the winding process efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications/Requirements
Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated proficiency in motor and coil winding processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of components, materials, and procedures involved in coil winding, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a manufacturing setting.
- Capability to work independently while maintaining tight tolerances and minimizing material waste within established production schedules.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings essential for accurate coil winding.
- Commitment to pass all required pre-employment screenings, including background check, physical examination, and drug/alcohol tests inclusive of hair follicle analysis.
- Willingness and availability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, to meet production demands when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude to handle winding operations effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills enabling constructive engagement with coworkers and supervisors.
