Job Overview

Reports to: General Manager Underground Mining, Canada
Shift: Monday-Friday
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: Up to 50% travel within the US and Canada is required
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop a sales strategy in conjunction with the KNA leadership team, the Hard Rock manufacturing leadership team and the relevant regional organizations in order to capture market share in the contract mining business
- Provide input into strategic plans for the continued expansion of revenue. Working with product managers on customer strategies that will affect the revenue and business profitability
- Work with the teams to ensure implementation of dealer management and selection process in relation to the business the contract mining customers are conducting
- Investigate competitor activities and conduct relevant market research that enables market competitiveness
- Assess customers’ total potential with Komatsu Hard Rock products
- Performs opportunity analysis by customer and site
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Develop and implement agreed business targets to include revenue, expenses, resourcing, and net working capital elements
- Develop long-term targets supported by annual budgets and goals
- Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
- Liaises between customers, Komatsu Hard Rock business development, and leadership to ensure all issues are settled in a timely manner
- Coordinate and secure specialized Komatsu Hard Rock resources in line with customer requirements
- Provide regular status reports on business activities, opportunity development and overall satisfaction of the customer's base
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mining related discipline (Engineering, Geology, Meteorology etc.) or Business Administration
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience
- Minimum 5 years experience or familiarity with the underground mining industry and product application
- Experience in preparing tender submissions is essential
- Experience negotiating direct customer sales and dealer contracts
- Strong knowledge of the underground Hardrock mining industry
- Ability to assess and manage business risk
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate others to achieve outcomes
- Ability to lead and work as part of an integrated broad team
- Ability to build relationships within the industry
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingualism is an asset
