Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes, providing technical support under supervision, and participating in related projects to gain practical experience. This role involves coordinating activities with internal and external suppliers, working alongside operations and EHS to enhance safety and promote a sustainable safety culture. The Manufacturing Engineering EIT will design manufacturing processes, coordinate with tooling and equipment sources for construction and validation, and review assembly operations and component designs to ensure manufacturing feasibility.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist operations and EHS to enhance manufacturing safety and support a sustainable safety culture.
  • Provide support to the production team during the assembly phase.
  • Support the design and implementation of new production lines under supervision.
  • Create and maintain assembly & testing work instructions
  • Assist with capital and tooling analysis and acquisitions under guidance.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams on product development initiatives.
  • Interface with peers, suppliers, and industry organizations to support research and development of new process designs and technology concepts.
  • Provide assistance to the manufacturing, quality, engineering development, and planning staff as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • University degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Entry-level experience or internships in manufacturing engineering or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of 3D CAD design, preferably with some experience using SolidWorks & Solidworks Composer.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding and machining.
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials and MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Ability to function in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel in support of job functions.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

Compensation Range

At Komatsu, base pay is just one part of a comprehensive total compensation package designed to support and reward our employees. 

For this role, the annual base compensation range is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00CAD. The final offer will be determined based on several factors, including the candidates' skills, experience, qualifications, and the position location.
