Reports to: General Supervisor
Shift: 5x2, 7x7 or 14x14- discussed during recruitment process
Allowances: This role is eligible for additional premiums and company provided service vehicule
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: Up to 40-60% travel required for this role
Relocation: This role is eligible for relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems on underground mining equipment
- Perform maintenance, service, and inspections on electrical systems
- Commission new equipment, including pre-delivery inspections and on-site startup
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring issues
- Support customers with technical expertise and recommend improvements
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams
- Mentor junior technicians and support customer teams
- Maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all work
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid 442A Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification required
- Experience with underground mining equipment is considered an asset
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Solid understanding of electrical and industrial systems, with the ability to apply it in the field
- Willingness to perform work beyond electrical scope, including supporting mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy equipment systems as required
- Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- No restrictions for accessing mine sites
- Valid Class G driver’s license with willingness to travel and work overtime as required
