Job Overview

 

Ready to take your skills underground and beyond? We’re looking for Journeyperson HET’s who thrive on variety, adapt on the fly, and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty—whether in the shop or deep in the field.

Based in Sudbury, this role blends hands-on shop work with underground field service across Ontario. You’ll be traveling out of town or around Sudbury, responding to client needs with little notice and a whole lot of grit. When you're not on the road, you'll be supporting our Sudbury shop team with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of underground heavy equipment

We’re also hiring Journeyperson HETs to support our clients in Red Lake, Timmins, and Thunder Bay. These positions are field-based, servicing underground equipment in remote and dynamic environments. Reports to: Service Manager, Hard Rock Distribution
Shift: 5x2, Monday-Friday, 8-12h days,depending on client needs
Allowances: this role is eligible for an underground premium
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required

Travel: Up to 30-75% travel out of town depending on customer needs
Relocation: This role is eligible for relocation within Canada

Key Job Responsibilities

 

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing on underground mining equipment including LHDs, haul trucks, jumbos, and bolters
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Replace or adjust components and parts to restore equipment performance
  • Work directly at customer sites, ensuring timely and effective service
  • Uphold and contribute to a strong safety-first culture in every task

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Valid 421A Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal is an asset)
  • Proven experience with underground mining equipment is required
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
