Job Overview
Reports to: VP & GM, North America Mining Division
Shift: Monday- Friday 5x2
Location: Sudbury, ON
Relocation: This position offers relocation within Canada
Key Job Responsibilities
- Direct, control, and plan the regional hard rock distribution sales growth and aftermarket operations of the assigned territory including Komatsu and independently owned distribution in Canada
- Customer focused, develop and implement the selling and aftermarket strategies for all hard rock equipment and services within the territory
- Responsible for the business results of the territory (profit and loss) and is accountable for the success of the long-term business viability of the territory
- Full responsibility and accountability for Safety, Budget, Forecasting and Operations for the Sudbury branch
- Liaise between the Hard Rock production division and Komatsu Mining territory teams to ensure all issues are settled in a timely manner
- Accountable for assigned territory market analysis including the development of strategic account plans, defining customer base, current machine install base, all product and service opportunities, market potential, customer buying criteria and support requirements and identifying any barriers that may be encountered
- Responsible for the sale and execution of all Hard Rock equipment and aftermarket service associated with assigned business development territory
- Responsible to form long-term strategic customer relationships with corporate mining customers leading to constructive and profitable business partnerships
- Responsible for operations execution relative to branch aftermarket (rebuild, repair, field support, part sales) including inventory management and continuous improvement of operations efficiency.
- Act as a champion for the performance management process, providing coaching and mentoring to employees
Qualifications/Requirements
- 10 years in sales or aftermarket management in mining or related heavy industry
- Strong knowledge or experience in underground hard rock mining product application and industry methods
- Judgment and intuition acquired through experience in working with executive mining professionals and securing large capital sales
- Good business acumen and excellent negotiation skills to drive results
- Demonstrated experience developing business growth strategies within OEM business to include OE and aftermarket strategy development and execution plans
- Customer focused; must be able to network internally and externally
- Experience with Surface, Underground and/or Hard Rock Mining Equipment
- Must be innovative, adaptable and flexible to work with various types of customers and dealers
- Possess and demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Proficient with computer skills: SAP, Excel, Word and all windows-based software
- Experience with Salesforce, ERP systems is an asset
- Ability to travel across North America 50-75% relative to position location
