Job Overview
The Financial Data Analyst, Parts & Service will work as part of a multi-functional aftermarket team. The role entails the compilation, analysis and monitoring of parts sales data, pricing data, customer data and vendor data to provide ongoing information to the business in support of parts sales growth and accurate inventory planning.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze sales data and develop standard reports for presentation of results to aftermarket team and senior managers this includes parts sales performance, parts sales trends, parts pricing, competitor comparison,
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance by part category, item code, geography, customer and product line and report results to aftermarket team and senior managers.
- Evaluate parts sales trends and capture rate and develop parts sales forecast by part category, item code, geography and product line to enable enhance parts inventory planning with aftermarket team.
- Assess data from a variety of sources to gain insight into pricing strategies and market trends including competitor parts data, status and trends. Make recommendations on parts pricing strategies based on analysis of data.
- Apply statistical modeling methods to determine potential impact of pricing strategies on profitability and targeted margin capture.
- Perform related analytics to monitor parts service metrics including gathering data from Komatsu Mining sales distributors to monitor trends globally and within specific sales regions/customers/dealers. Parts service metrics to include inventory capture rates, OTD, warranty/quality, etc.
- Establishes and maintains parts coding, factory pricing and customer pricing information in the ERP system to ensure that fixed price agreements are accurate and current.
- Understand supplier cost base levels including MDC cost, Direct Ship Program cost and supplier independent aftermarket costs. Establish price quote based on product strategy and cost.
- Process requests for parts pricing received from dealers, field parts sales, or internal customer support departments in a timely manner. Update customers with status when information is not immediately available. Follow up with suppliers, purchasing, and procurement when information is not immediately available.
- Review inquiries from dealers and field sales to validate published prices. Update parts pricing systems with new part information for MDC distributed items. Analyze new part add reports and calculate parts pricing for systems update.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required within business administration, finance or data analysis.
- Advanced excel and power BI knowledge.
- Advanced understanding of data analysis and interpretation.
- Speed of execution / multi-tasking.
- Basic technical understanding of parts function.
- Thorough understanding of price and margin calculations.
- Thorough understanding of parts sales distribution networks, vendor programs, and transaction processes.
- Basic business and accounting principles.
- Understand and meet the needs of customers and address the interest and concerns of all organization stockholders.
- Excellent customer relations and active listening skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Computer Literacy including MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated, broad team.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative and high energy.
- Valid passport and driver’s license for travel requirements.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
