Job Overview

The Factory Technical Representative MC51 is responsible to support the Komatsu Underground Hard Rock Continuous Miner MC51 machine with our partner customers including underground product assembly and commissioning, product testing, product technical training, factory advanced support and technical advice. This position will be required to work in underground mines working shift work.

Key Job Responsibilities

Assembly and commissioning of the hard rock MC51 continuous mining machine.
Inspect and test mining machine prototypes for proper functioning.
Training of the operators in the use of the mining machine.
Training of the mobile mechanics and electricians in the maintenance and repair of the mining machine.
Provide field feedback to engineering team for planning of designs of mining machines.
Provides relevant feedback to factory to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.
Aids in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements.
Hands-on support to machine fault finding and breakdowns underground.
Assist in creation of machine priority parts listings.
Report any EHS concerns including product related.
Completes accurate time records, technical reports as applicable.

Qualifications/Requirements

Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Electrician or equivalent trades diploma and experience.
7+ years experience with maintenance, assembly or repair of underground mining equipment.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
Hydraulic and Electrical systems knowledge with ability to read/ interpret schematics.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to facilitate technical training and impart detailed information.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible, self-motivated and driven for customer satisfaction.
Strong computer skills for reporting.
