About the Role:
Are you passionate about providing top-notch technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction? Do you have extensive experience servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting underground mining equipment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! As a Factory Product Support Specialist, LHD & Trucks, you will be the technical subject matter expert supporting Komatsu customers and distributors worldwide. You will play a crucial role in product commissioning, technical training, and providing advanced support and services.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Participate in new product introductions and support the commissioning of new products. Provide hands-on technical training to customers and service regions on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
- Customer Support: Offer technical support to end users, operators, and regional/dealer service personnel for complex technical issues. Assist in compiling accurate data for warranty claims and engineering improvements.
- Product Feedback: Create product issue reports and assist operations with field-testing and trials of new products. Provide feedback to operations, quality, engineering, and product management teams.
- Safety and Quality: Champion Komatsu Mining Corp safety policies and applicable regulations. Identify and report any unsafe work habits and strive to find safer ways for customers to work with our products.
- Documentation: Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists as applicable.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Technical certification or diploma in heavy equipment mechanic/fitter or similar.
- Technical certification in electrical technology with certification to work on high voltage (309A and 442A).
- 7 years of extensive experience with underground mining equipment, specifically underground LHD & Trucks.
- Ability to work varied shift schedules and travel globally up to 50% of the time.
- Valid passport and ability to work in an underground environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate technical training.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and driven to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
- Superior customer relations and active listening skills.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of the customer industry.
