Job Overview

  • Manage Booking, Billing, Backlog (BBB) reporting in the SAP Business, Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system and ensure the accuracy of the data.
  • Collection, consolidation, and preparation of internal Underground financial reports.  This includes the P&L, Balance Sheet, period costs and BBB files.
  • Responsible for month end closing procedures; profit in inventory (PII - if applicable), fringe benefits, monthly accruals, intra-company transactions, account reconciliations, fixed assets, journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews and follow-up with reconciling items as assigned.
  • Assist the Soft Rock Americas finance team in the consolidations and reporting of weekly (current) estimates, quarterly outlooks (forecasts) and annual budget.
  • Lead/assist various finance and business initiatives with a focus on process improvements to help drive actions to improve financial performance and efficiencies. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly parts and components booking/backlog reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of the weekly estimate for review.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and review of BBB data. Analyze data and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.  Develop super user skillset for SAP BPC system and assist other users. 
  • Analyze and prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting of results including needed accruals, and entries to correct missing business areas.
  • Assist in credit memo processing, concession reporting, and invoicing for the Soft Rock team.
  • Review and analyze monthly OE/Rebuild machine detail to ensure the data (sales and margin) is complete and accurate.
  • Assist in the timely monthly preparation of the crushing P&L, Balance Sheet and Period Cost Schedule for monthly close-out calls.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and follow-up with reconciliation items, as assigned.
  • Analyze and review financial results; including variance analysis, reconciling of results, using business trends to build relationship between financial account balances. 
  • Prepare financial schedules in support of monthly and quarterly review meetings and perform schedules and analysis in support of the quarterly forecast and annual budget process.
  • Answer internal/external audit questions, review control processes and gather required data for auditors.  
  • Manage and update outlook and budget SharePoint templates for the crushing business to ensure timely completion of Forecast and Budgets.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and requests as required by the Soft Rock Finance Organization.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial/accounting function is required
  • Continuous improvement mentality
  • Self-starter:  Action-oriented / “Can-do” attitude
  • SAP and Business Warehouse experience is a plus
  • Strong Excel, Word & PowerPoint required.  PowerBI is preferred, not required
  • Experience in a manufacturing or service organization
  • Mix of Public Accountant or Industry experience preferred
