Job Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will play a vital role as a trusted HR partner for Komatsu’s U.S. Company Owned Dealers, based in Las Vegas, NV, with additional support across Komatsu West. This is a dynamic opportunity to influence both people and business success by delivering full-spectrum HR support. The role works on all facets of HR—including employee relations, talent and performance management, policy and compliance, training and development, and rewards and benefits—while working closely with leaders and employees to build a strong, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and leaders, answering routine questions and providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues; escalate complex matters to the HR Manager as appropriate
  • Draft, revise, and edit company policies, procedures, and related documents, ensuring compliance with laws and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and update job descriptions
  • Conduct new employee orientations and counsel employees/applicants on benefit plan provisions to support informed decisions
  • Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS system
  • Coordinate employee-related policy payments (e.g., PPE reimbursements, wellness reimbursements, referral bonuses, tuition reimbursements) with finance/payroll
  • Maintain HR records, including applications, resumes, workers’ compensation, benefits, and pension documentation
  • Complete required HR reporting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Lead Health and Wellness Program initiatives
  • Support HR communications and provide training to managers and employees on new programs, systems, and processes
  • Support internal communications efforts
  • Promote and drive safety initiatives and foster a strong safety culture
  • Manage performance and merit review processes for the hourly workforce
  • Leverage local, government, and Komatsu-sponsored programs to support employees and business goals
  • Facilitate and support accelerated technical training programs
  • Coordinate alignment of HR policies across the US Distribution Group in support of One Komatsu initiatives
  • Ensure accurate electronic filing and storage of HR documentation

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources; combination of education and experience will be considered

Experience:
•    3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
•    Strong interpersonal skills both oral and written
•    Self-starter with ability to work independently
•    Capable of carrying projects through to completion and multitasking 
•    Strong business/operations acumen with focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
•    Working knowledge of all functional HR areas including employee relations, FML, ADA, employment law, recruiting, performance management, training, compensation, benefits and development
•    Excellent computer skills required including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•    SPHR, PHR, or SHRM professional certification a plus
•    Experience working in Manufacturing and/or Distribution a plus
•    Ability to travel (Up to 25%) to Komatsu locations within the United States
