Key Job Responsibilities
- Engage in physically demanding tasks requiring the frequent lifting and moving of materials, often under challenging conditions and in various work positions.
- Support skilled tradespeople, including welders and mechanics, by retrieving tools, parts, and equipment necessary for daily operations.
- Collaborate closely with experienced Welders and Mechanics to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, operate a range of electrical and pneumatic power tools, and accurately follow detailed scopes of work.
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as cleaning, painting, and lubricating tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Adhere strictly to Komatsu’s Safety First culture by understanding and abiding by all Cardinal Rules, actively participating in safety initiatives such as Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), submitting Near Miss Reports, and contributing to Safety Observations to enhance workplace safety standards.
- Demonstrate resilience and professionalism by working effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and fostering cooperative relationships with coworkers and supervisors in a dynamic work environment.
- Participate in continuous learning opportunities aimed at expanding technical knowledge and enhancing skills relevant to equipment maintenance and repair.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Candidates must possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving decimals and fractions. The role involves interpreting simple formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with the use of adjustable measuring instruments and the ability to review reports, forms, and records with attention to detail are essential.
Experience: A minimum of three months up to one year of experience in heavy equipment operation, general labor, or related fields is required. Experience working in physically demanding and safety-sensitive environments is highly valued.
