Maintenance Planner

Job Overview

The position will be based at Sasol Secunda Shondoni Mine and the incumbent will report to the Administration Manager.

Responsible for the planning, resourcing, and co-ordination of onsite Project Plans.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the long-term strategic plan in terms of planning, resourcing, scheduling, and co-ordination of all maintenance work for maintaining and enhancing equipment reliability, by the most cost-effective methods available to minimize risk and rework;
• Responsible for the planning, resourcing, and co-ordination of onsite Project Plans;
• Accountable to plan, schedule, and co-ordinate all maintenance work and resources required;
• To maintain and enhance equipment availability and efficiency, and to assist the Maintenance team with scheduling and resourcing;
• To plan, schedule and coordinate spares & labour for maintenance required to maintain Joy Continuous Miners, Joy Shuttle Cars and LDVs;
• To ensure reliable and available support equipment critical to the Maintenance strategy;
• Accountable for Expediting of units/parts for on time completion of planned work;
• Checking of shortages and provide information on the delivery dates for Planned Maintenance and Rebuild Projects Parts, Labour and Support;
• Verify information on submitted Job Cards, identify repetitive events, new defects, possible improvements to tasks or processes.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Technical background or trade will be considered as advantageous;
• Certified Maintenance Planner (MPS) or similar;
• Several years of experience in a maintenance-related field;
• Proficiency with CMMS software;
• Valid Driver’s license with own transport;
• Computer literate (Minimum intermediate Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Advantage to have – SAP experience;
• Strong analytical skills including writing reports and presenting
• Must be accurate with strong organizational skills.
