Job Overview
All positions will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District! The target start date for the Internship Program is Summer 2026, with potential for extension into the Fall 2026 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assisting in case investigation, root cause analysis, containment of suspect parts of new machines being assembled globally
- Applying continuous improvement principles to identify opportunities to reduce warranty cost and improve product quality, reliability, and availability
- The development and implementation of corrective actions and creation of Engineering Change Requests
- Working with quality teams, purchasing, subcontract to mitigate new machine build issues
- Creating and refining Salesforce reports and dashboards
- Assisting with improvements to machine assembly documentation and collection from commissioned machines
- Managing Specific Product Issues through the issue resolution process and update the records in Salesforce accordingly
- Collaborating with subject matter experts in compiling and proofreading technical service documents in preparation for global distribution
- Creation of and revision to service/maintenance interval checklists (high level schedule)
Qualifications/Requirements
- Actively enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor’s (preferred) or master’s degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical or materials science engineering, from an accredited university
- Hold a junior (preferred) or senior undergraduate standing. Earliest graduation date of December 2026 (post-graduate not accepted.)
- Have a strong interest in pursuing and/or exploring careers in the heavy equipment manufacturing industry
- Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
- Continuous improvement skills including problem solving and root cause analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, often will be in communication with international company representatives (Spanish speaking is a plus)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently as well a part of a team towards a goal
- Excellent organization and personal time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks (time-sensitive)
- Previous classroom and/or work experience in one or more of the following areas: (Electrical Power Systems, Electronic Drive Systems, PLC’s, Mechanical Theory, Continuous Improvement 6S Lean or other)
- Computer Automated Drafting/Design experience a plus, Solid Works is ideal
