Job Overview

Komatsu Mining in Houston, PA has an immediate opening in our Distribution Warehouse for a Dispatch Specialist.  Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with schedule flexibility to backfill for manager when needed.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of logistics flow for inbound and outbound materials - international and domestic - service and production -- through the facilities assigned to the respective distribution centers and satellite warehouses
  • Align with the warehouse and invoicing personnel regarding outbound quality (packaging, documention, permitting) of customer order fulfillment
  • Support specialist with the coordination transportation fleet, expedited, contracted, common carrier and rail equipment for conveyance of materials or freight.
  • Foster positive working relationships with carriers and suppliers in supporting door-to-door transport issues including track/trace visibility, packaging, expediting, pick-up and delivery orders.
  • Assist with documentation and needs of outsourced providers for processing freight claims, OS&S situations, and the varied, multi-model complexities of both domestic and international logistics
  • Obtain and file necessary documentation regarding all Logistics activities as necessary, from packing lists, house bills, certificates of insurance, letters of credit provisions, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

Experience

  • 3-5 years work experience in logistics, warehousing and distribution
  • 1+ year experience with transportation, WMS, GTS, and/or TMS processes
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and how they apply to operations
  • Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouse personnel

Technical Skills

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skill
  • Microsoft Suite -  Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word
  • Knowledge of SAP, RF bar code scanning devices, bar coding and decision support software

Personal Attributes

  • Understanding of process improvement (six sigma background helpful)
  • Knowledge of systems as they relate to supply chain/logistics concepts and practices
  • Works well under pressure while achieving desired results
  • Team player with positive interpersonal and influential skills
