Job Overview
- Perform duties in diverse weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat, while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
- Work a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern consisting primarily of 13-hour shifts, occasionally extending to 14 hours; be prepared for up to 6 consecutive workdays followed by one rest day, all in compliance with the organization's fatigue management policy to ensure wellness and operational safety.
- Monitor and report on the status of Ground Engaging Tools (GET) inventory to prevent equipment downtime and maintain operational continuity.
- Handle GET components ranging in weight from 2 to 500 pounds, with the ability to safely lift loads up to 50 pounds, ensuring adherence to safe manual handling practices at all times.
- Independently assess and creatively devise action plans to promptly resolve equipment or inventory issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and logical decision-making.
- Provide assistance in diagnosing equipment repair needs, support repair processes, and contribute to gearbox and component rebuilds, ensuring equipment is restored to optimal working order.
- Inspect, clean, and classify parts to designate them as reusable or scrap, maintaining high standards in parts processing to support effective equipment maintenance.
- Consistently uphold and promote a safe working environment, actively practicing and encouraging safe work habits among all team members.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Maintain constant communication with internal teams, mine operations, and external vendors to effectively manage GET supplies and address equipment needs timely, ensuring minimum downtime during operations.

Key Job Responsibilities
This role requires practical knowledge and experience in welding and cutting applications, critical for maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment.
Proficiency in the safe and effective use of various hand tools is essential, including grinders, pneumatic hammers, and sledgehammers, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
The position involves moderate physical demands such as continuous lifting and moving of light to moderately heavy materials and operating in confined or difficult postures, underlining the importance of physical fitness and ergonomic awareness.
Compliance with safety regulations is paramount; therefore, current MSHA certification, a valid driver's license, and successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and physical examinations are required.

Qualifications/Requirements
Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree or Millwright certification; however, candidates with equivalent mechanical experience will be considered.
A minimum of 1 to 2 years' related mechanical experience is expected, with foundational skills in trade mathematics and the capability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and standard handbook formulas at an entry level.
Applicants should have basic proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments such as magnetic particle testers, micrometers, laser aligners, calipers, and bore gauges, enabling precision in maintenance and repair tasks.
- Associate's degree or Millwright qualifications advantageous but not mandatory.
- 1-2 years of mechanical experience demonstrating hands-on skills in related trades.
- Entry-level competency with trade mathematics applicable to mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation effectively.
- Familiarity with precision measuring devices for high-quality repair and maintenance work.
- Flexibility in work scheduling to accommodate shift patterns and operational needs.
