Job Overview
The Vice President of Marketing and Fleet Operations oversees inventory management—including acquisition, maintenance, repair, and logistics—for Komatsu, Allied, and attachments across 11 locations in MD, DE, PA, NY, and NJ.
The Vice President, Fleet and Sales Operations is responsible for managing and overseeing the sales operations and performance of Komatsu Company Dealership East. This includes the organization’s sales and rental fleet inventory, Used Equipment Sales, Tactical/Strategic Pricing, Sales Operations, Rental Operations, Digital Transformation/BI, and Marketing. This role has direct responsibility and impact on the organization’s financial profitability, stability, and success by generating revenue, maximizing the company’s return on invested capital (ROIC), and managing free cash flow. The VP of Fleet and Sales Operations is also responsible for managing the Komatsu Company Dealership East’s relationship with Komatsu NA and Allied OEMs along with developing the pricing and marketing strategies together with the VP of Sales. Ensuring that Komatsu Company Dealership East’s pricing and go to market strategies are market competitive is vital in the success of the organization.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of Komatsu Company Dealership East’s Sales Support teams
- Develop and implement KPI’s for all departments under the VP of Fleet and Sales Operation’s responsibility
- Always approach tasks and challenges with a change and growth mindset
- Develop and evolve policies and SOPs to provide guidelines, efficiencies, and oversite to ensure compliance
- Identify areas of concern, develop corrections, and implement solutions
- Create and manage Komatsu Company Dealership East’s relationships with key vendors and OEMs
- Consistently review and evolve departmental responsiveness
- Fleet Management: Manage all aspects of the dealership's fleet, including rental, new, and used inventory. This includes maintaining healthy inventory levels and product mixes by considering factors like sales history, market trends, and utilization rates. The role also involves developing order forecasting, demand planning, and fleet projections, as well as reporting on fleet activities to executive leadership. You will identify distressed fleet and create disposal strategies
- Used Equipment: Oversee the entire used equipment department, including trade-ins, purchases, and wholesale transactions. This includes creating and managing a retail sales strategy and P&L.
- Pricing and Sales Operations: Manage the centralized pricing of all equipment and develop sales programs and promotions. You will monitor market pricing to adjust strategies and collaborate with the field sales team to ensure programs are meeting expectations.
- Rental Operations: Focus on growing the rental business by managing all logistics and operational aspects of the department, and developing a rental strategy to support revenue growth.
- Marketing: Develop annual marketing strategies and manage the department's budget. This involves collaborating with all dealership departments to align promotions and managing company events like open houses and trade shows
- Digital Transformation: Manage and improve the dealership's business intelligence (BI) platform. This requires supplying analytical data to leadership and managing a dedicated SQL server to import ERP and CRM data for robust analysis.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of industry experience.
- Construction equipment sales, quoting, and pricing experience.
