Job Overview

Komatsu is hiring a Human Resources Intern to support US Distribution and Company Owned Stores.  This role will office in Hatfield, PA and provide administrative and technical support to the Human Resources Department.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work Safe and be an advocate for safety
  • Sourcing candidates for open positions, recruiting, and assistance with onboarding
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
  • Assist with scheduling of drug screens and physicals
  • Maintain the general office filing system
  • Scan Personnel Files and HR Documentation to appropriate network drive
  • Assist with preparation of new hire packets
  • Assists with special projects
  • Provide support to HR Staff as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPPA guidelines
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures
  • Conduct interviews and engagement sessions with employees to gather data and responses
  • Review and analyze data to identify trends and illustrate success of new initiatives
  • Lead projects and events aimed at improving employee engagement
  • Prepare and deliver presentations highlighting findings and results
  • Participate in job shadows and information sessions with other areas of the organization
  • Work will be performed mostly in an office environment on-site at the manufacturing facility. Candidate must be comfortable going out into the manufacturing environment to observe, collect data, and interact with employees. Group meetings or trainings may be held in conference room settings or virtually via Teams. 
  • Building relationships is a key component of the intern role. This position will interact regularly with employees across multiple departments at different levels within the organization. Must be comfortable building relationships with peers, members of management and supervision, as well as individual contributors. Collaboration among groups of employees across multiple functions of the organization is strongly encouraged. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Experience in an HR/Office environment preferred
  • Seeking a Degree in Human Resources or Business preferred
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Punctual with strong attendance history
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test
  • Experience working in any HR related field including staffing, recruiting, training, customer service, payroll, benefits, etc. is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at multiple organization levels; ability to work independently or in collaboration with others to complete work projects; must be comfortable speaking in front of groups to present findings or suggestions; 
  • Strong time management skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); Experience with HRIS software a plus
