Job Overview
Komatsu Company-Owned Dealers East is pleased to offer multiple Internship, Diesel Technician opportunities at each one of our branch locations. These opportunities will provide the Intern, Diesel Technician with the opportunity to work along-side a skilled Diesel Technician and learn the fundamentals of Shop Safety, Hydraulics, Electrical, Undercarriages, Powertrains, Engines, etc.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe shop working practices;
- Perform basic diagnosis procedures on equipment utilizing current test equipment;
- Prepare and follow specific repair orders;
- Employ service manuals and instructions in prescribing corrective repairs;
- Perform basic maintenance and repair on equipment;
- Follow work directives;
- Collaborate with other employees;
- Report to work on time and on a regular basis and record a minimum of 240 total hours; and follow employer policies and procedures;
Qualifications/Requirements
- Be enrolled in the appropriate degree program and have completed any appropriate prerequisites.
- Have an overall cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better.
- Complete an Application for Internship form (if applicable to your school)
- Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
- PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Travel: Some travel may be required.
- In addition to the listed items above, your school may assign other duties/ qualifications as needed
