Job Overview:
This position undertakes a broad range of administrative HR-related responsibilities and is a critical partner within the HR team. This position is involved in every aspect of the employee life cycle and provides a wide range of activities and support to many programs and processes including talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, employee development and training, employee relations, compensation, policy development and general administration. This role must be well-versed in employment laws and standards, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews Bi-Weekly Timekeeping file for accuracy.
- Tracks and processes employee reimbursements, bonuses, etc.
- Processes standard union reporting, auditing, and reconciliation by pay period, month, quarter, and annual processes
- Assists as point of contact to applicant through the application and onboarding process.
- Serves as onboarding coordinator for new hires and coordinates/presents orientation
- Serves as the first point of contact for supporting employees and managers with HR concerns. Will escalate issues to the HR Generalist, Manager, or Operations Leader as necessary.
- Serves as back up point of contact for employees on LOA
- Assists with the coordination of onsite meetings.
- Develops and maintains electronic employee files
- Manages relocation administration when required.
- Produces people metrics/reporting, when required.
- Champions a safe and positive work environment by demonstrating HR and Komatsu’s core values and best practices.
- All other duties and HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or combination of formal education and experience in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience preferred.
- Knowledge of all functional HR areas including employee relations, employment law, recruiting, performance management, compensation, benefits, program and process management, and employee development.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and develop effective relationships with all levels of employee stakeholders including management.
- Strong HR administration skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize numerous activities within a deadline orientated environment.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Has a dependable “can-do” attitude with enthusiasm for innovation and process improvement
- Brings an elevated energy to the team in pursuit of operational excellence.
- Knowledge of SAP Success Factors is an asset.
- Previous work experience in the mining, manufacturing, or energy sector is a plus.
- Working towards SHRM designation is an asset.
- Some travel may be required. Onsite four days per week, one day remote once performance metrics are met.
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $55,000 to 65,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location. #LI-CB1
