Job Overview

Key Job Responsibilities

Sales
-Responsible for delivering on sales performance goals and market share improvement targets within assigned territory. Sales are driven via distribution channels and direct sales. Business plans and targets are set by the jointly developed business plan.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
-Responsible for the development of new, and maintenance of existing, customer relationships as well as relationships with Komatsu distributors within the region. Utilize tools and processes, such as SalesForce and dealer contacts, to manage opportunities, ascertain communication channels, and deliver on customer expectations.
Business Development
-Develop joint business development plans with distribution and drive execution to meet Komatsu Mining business development goals which include OE, Aftermarket, Service, Used Equipment and rental opportunities. Pursue growth through traditional and non-traditional channels with the application of all Komatsu mining product solutions including traditional KMC equipment as well as traditional Komatsu mining equipment and CE as support equipment.
-Develop strategic and tactical plans to meet sales and market share goals and to drive into untapped sources of sales and service revenue.
-Analyze equipment application, mining techniques and provide recommendations for the right product solution. Support distribution channels with product and marketing information.
Market Assessment
-Track and report industry trends, customer behavior, competitive activities and distribution challenges. Develop and establish strategic and tactical plans to take advantage of changing trends.
-Develop forward looking strategy to prepare for future changes in the market. Both new opportunities and expected threats to current market.
Safety
-Promote and support safety initiatives to drive our culture toward Zero Harm

Qualifications/Requirements

-A business degree or equivalent work experience is a must. This to include a background in budgets, mining and construction equipment knowledge, forecasting, and operational experience.

-Seven to 10 years of sales experience in equipment distribution, manufacturing & service. The sales experience needs to include contract negotiations, direct sales and distributor sales, and working knowledge of equipment. Internal experience a plus along with familiarity of the Komatsu product offering.

-A minimum three years of experience in surface mining equipment applications. This knowledge base is key to be able to relate to our customer’s needs.

-Ability to travel overnight, sometimes with little notice.

-This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects that are occurring simultaneously.

-Effective leadership and relationship development abilities.

-Experience utilization a CRM system. SalesForce experience a plus.

-Strong Entrepreneurial Spirit and Drive

-Ability to prepare on the fly & “think on your feet”.

-Sense of urgency and excellent prioritization ability
