Key Job Responsibilities

  • Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain, and support components, products and/or services per market demands, as well as for continual process improvements.
  • Learn to perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, basic calculations and tests that have well defined and broadly defined requirements and desired outcomes.
  • Participate in provided Learning and Development opportunities, both inside and outside of the organization, to benefit oneself and the overall organization.
  • Work as part of a team, Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, to complete well defined and broadly defined work on-time and to specifications.
  • Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, engage in effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with well-defined and broadly defined global standards and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain, and support components, products, and/or services.
  • Perform product support tasks with cross-functional business partners in Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality.

Predominant Tasks

  • Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, prepare design layouts, models, and other engineering specifications to satisfy well defined and broadly defined requirements.
  • Under direction of an Engineer or Designer, set-up and perform engineering tests as directed to satisfy well-defined and broadly defined requirements.
  • Under direction of an Engineer or Designer, perform basic engineering calculations that are relevant to design modifications and new developments.
  • Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of oneself and the organization.
  • Work as part of a team supporting projects for orders or development projects.
  • Under the direction of an Engineer, learn to apply and check global regulations and safety compliance requirements for designs originating from oneself.
  • Provide information as directed for creation of Technical Reports and Service Bulletins
  • Make field trips to manufacturing facilities to observe machines during the build process. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing with respect to specification originating from self.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Certification in Technology or equivalent relevant discipline, required.
  • 3 years’ experience in machine design, machine application, mining industry, desired.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired.
  • Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired.
  • Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired.
  • Experience in focused team assignment(s), desired.
  • Subscription to CAD related technical publications, beneficial.
