Job Overview

Location: Franklin, PA

 

This role will architect the development and deployment of AFC control systems technology road map. Guiding innovative control and automation systems which provide clear product differentiation with our competitors. This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer (AFC) however will require a strong working relationship with the C&A Manager as well as the Product Managers in each region ensuring on time delivery of products and solutions whilst ensuring the ongoing development of innovative items and software features that suit market needs.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve AFC Control systems.
  • Build an AFC control system product roadmap including sunset clauses for obsolete with a developed standard configurable product offering.
  • Write functional specifications for C&A department to execute bug fixes or new product developments.
  • Consult on sales tenders and contracts. Manage the design, compatibility and performance integration for all facets of the AFC Control System.
  • Develop effective working relationships and alliances with technology innovators both internal and external to the mining industry to support Joy’s product development needs
  • Develop and support resource and knowledge capability within the group.
  • Develop and support a culture where all customer hand overs are flawless – ensuring clear SOW, change management documents and SF case KPI’s are produced.
  • Manage the department’s resource capability to ensure OTD of all contracts and fault finding.
  • Conduct investigations, conduct engineering analysis and run tests as required using innovative approaches when standard ones are non-productive or inadequate.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Industry knowledge required.
  • Electrical and/or Mechatronics Diploma or Degree is preferrable.
  • Project Management and Contract Management Experience an advantage
  • 10+ yrs. experience required.
  • Local and International travel up to 35%
  • SAP and Sales Order proficient
  • Product and Process proficient
  • Considered an expert in their area/function
  • Must be self-driven to achieve results
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence outside of direct reporting structure
  • The drive for continuous improvement and the courage to challenge, innovate and lead others to deliver change. A key success factor for this role is the ability to energize and alert groups to the need for specific changes in the way the business needs to perform
