Job Overview
The Komatsu Decarbonization and Electrification (D&E) team develops solutions across surface and underground mining equipment in pursuit of our goals of greenhouse gas reductions and carbon neutrality. The CAD Designer is a part of the Energy Transfer team which is responsible for the engineering design and development of battery charging systems and the associated ongoing engineering lifecycle support and technical support of internally manufactured battery chargers applied to both surface and underground mining products. This is will take design concepts and be able to make representative 3D cad models to illustrate design concepts for design reviews or engineering presentations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain, and support components, products and/or services per market demands, as well as for continual process improvements.
- Learn to perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, basic calculations and tests that have well defined and broadly defined requirements and desired outcomes.
- Participate in provided Learning and Development opportunities, both inside and outside of the organization, to benefit oneself and the overall organization.
- Work as part of a team, Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, to complete well defined and broadly defined work on-time and to specifications.
- Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, engage in effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with well-defined and broadly defined global standards and engineering best practices.
- Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain, and support components, products, and/or services.
- Perform product support tasks with cross-functional business partners in Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Certification in Technology or equivalent relevant discipline, required.
- 3 years’ experience in machine design, machine application, mining industry, desired.
- Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired.
- Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired.
- Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired.
- Experience in focused team assignment(s), desired.
- Subscription to CAD related technical publications, beneficial.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
