Job Overview

1.           Manage welding processes & procedures across all AMNO facilities.

2.           Manage welder testing & training requirements across all AMNO facilities.

3.           Manage implementation & adherence of ISO 3834 welding standards.

4.           Manage welding-related Continuous Improvement projects & initiatives across all AMNO facilities.

5.           Act as Subject Matter Expert for all welding processes.

6.           Support Quality department at all AMNO facilities & suppliers as required.

Key Job Responsibilities

    

  1. Develop, maintain, and communicate welding processes & procedures in alignment with engineering requirements.
  2. Audit sites to ensure appropriate processes and procedures are being followed.  Document all completed audits and non-conformance reviews.
  3. Audit sites to ensure ISO 3834 adherence.
  4. Develop and maintain Welder applicant testing, as well as training programs for existing Welders and Welding Operators. 
  5. Document and maintain Welder and Welding Operator’s welding qualifications.
  6. Provide technical support for all AMNO facilities (internal and external) regarding quality, fabrication, and welding processes & procedures.
  7. Prepare and distribute “QPs” for manufacturing projects as needed.
  8. Support first article requirements & technical reviews dealing with welding and/or fabrication processes.
  9. Be knowledgeable in all welding processes in all positions, work with welders on difficult & problem welding applications.
  10. Maintain established acceptance criteria for fabrication and weld quality - Verify compliance through visits, audits, inspections, as directed by Operations, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Engineering, and Supplier’s Quality Assurance Dept.
  11. Perform 6S audits of welding and fabrication processes.
  12. Assist in revising existing routing/standards to ensure proper procedures and processes are adhered to maintain quality and productivity.
  13. Perform testing, evaluation, and calibration of welding and burning equipment, welding consumables and related products.

Qualifications/Requirements

•           Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Welding and Fabrication and a minimum of 7+ years equivalent training and technical experience

•            Certified Weld Inspector (CWI);

•            Experience reading and interrupting blueprints as it relates to welding/fabrication.

•            Review supplier submitted PQR’s & WPS’s for conformance.

•            Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•            Experience in the metalworking industries; welding and fabrication/assembly process.

•            Understanding of quality systems and use of SAP.

•            Familiar with Mining products.
