Job Overview

 

We are currently looking to add a Shop Labourer, Student to our Fort McMurray team. 
 

Reports to: Foreman, Welding Shop

Shift:  5x2, 12 hours per shift

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Responsibilities

 

Learn equipment operation and help load/unload plasma table operation.

•Mechanical assembly assistant. Dress dippers, doors, saddleblocks and other common mechanical tasks.

•Track and manage inventory on consumables and usage.

•Arrange and organize materials for jobs.

• Show some skill with hand tools and assembly and/or fabrication skills.

•Duties may include moving machinery, tools and products to correct shop locations using an overhead crane/ telehandler or forklift.

•Duties in the manufacturing and or refurbishment process for general labor tasks.

•Painting components

•Prepping components for shipping ie: strapping pallets, arrange with the warehouse to receive components for shipping.

•Assist Journeyperson welders, mechanics and machinists. Follow directions from peers and supervisors.

•Strong focus on shop cleanliness and removing excess material/garbage’s daily

•Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

 

• Qualified candidates will have strong work ethic and mechanical ability

• Able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Welding/grinding skills an asset.

• Overhead crane experience an asset.

• Previous related experience an asset.

• Valid Driver’s License and own transportation are required.

• OSSA, CSTS, Class C First Aid an asset.

• Must have a strong safety focus.

• Progression to trades positions is possible with experience
